Facilities & Accommodation

Archer Mountain Community provides six retreat spaces and these are available for private and group retreats and spiritual direction is available on request. These spaces include:

Julian the Hermitage, Merton Cottage, McKillop Cabin, The Glasshouse

All private and some directed retreats are self-catering and all spaces contain cooking facilities and fridges.

The Archer Mountain Community remains open for individuals to come for spiritual direction, private or directed retreats or for some quiet time in the solitude of the Sacred Land of this place. Groups may also wish to use our facilities for meeting and community experience.

MacKillop Cottage
Accommodation

  • The Glasshouse - two single bedrooms, bathroom/toilet, kitchenette
  • Julian, The Hermitage - double bedroom, kitchenette, outside bathroom/toilet (composting toilet)
  • MacKillop Cottage - king-size single bed, kitchenette, ensuite bathroom/toilet
  • Merton Cabin - king-size single bed, kitchenette, outside bathroom/toilet (composting toilet)
  • The Guest House - main bedroom with double and single beds, two single bedrooms, kitchen, toilets and bathroom - when available

  • The Potter’s House - a Gathering Space for 10 to 20 people
  • The Thomas Berry Sanctuary - Meditation Space
  • The Resource Centre - Art Space and Library
  • Meditation Way with walking access to Mt Archer

  • Four Nature Loos - composting toilets
  • Rainforest walk, a dam and extensive grounds and gardens
  • An eleven circuit Chartres Labyrinth
Short drive to D'Agular National Park with camping, swimming and walking. Easy car access to Kilcoy and Woodford townships

Catering

Catering is available upon request from the local community. However, self-catering is encouraged as accommodation units have cooking facilities and fridges for storage. Provisions can be bought in nearby Kilcoy or Woodford if necessary.

Full catering is provided by the community during the scheduled guided, group retreats each year. Morning and afternoon tea facilities as well as a barbecue & microwave are available at The Potters' House for the use of all.
